Welcome
Welcome to This Week in Sussex Tech.

It’s been a strong week on SussexDigital, with new listings across every category and over 50 events now on the calendar.

I’m currently working on new categories and features that will roll out over the coming weeks…

Is what I’ve built so far working for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts…

  • 14 event listings were added in the last 7 days

🗓️ What’s on this week

There are 8 events on across the county this week.

  • codebar Brighton Workshop at DabApps, 21 April, DabApps, Brighton & Hove. A practical coding session and a good option if you want something hands-on and community-led.

  • How AI can help you find more customers, 22 April, The_Track, Bognor Regis. A useful pick for readers who want an applied business angle on AI rather than a broader tech talk.

  • Breaking Breadboards, 22 April, Freedom Works Brighton, Barts House, Brighton & Hove. A regular local hardware and maker meetup with a more hands-on feel than the usual software-heavy diary.

  • Brighton Blockchain Meetup, 22 April, The Southern Belle, Brighton & Hove. A straightforward local meetup for anyone following Brighton's blockchain and web3 crowd.

  • The Farm, 22 April, The Battle Of Trafalgar, Brighton & Hove. A sociable freelancer-focused meetup for people who prefer a looser community evening over a formal talk.

  • Skillshare Thursday #4: From Code to Nodes - Unity Visual Scripting, 23 April, Brighton & Hove. A good one for readers interested in games, Unity, or creative coding.

  • Everyday Figma for UX, Development, and Product, 27 April, Cockcroft Building, University of Brighton, Brighton & Hove. A practical design and product session with obvious crossover for UX, delivery, and dev teams.

👀 Community spotlight

This week we’re highlighting another newly added community…

Added to our directory this week, Sussex Games is focused on supporting and showcasing the video games ecosystem across the wider Sussex region, from local developers and studios to the organisations around them.

Alongside promoting local games work, it is also bringing people together through partnerships, education and employability work via SEEN in Video Games. Its first official event, Feast Of The Devs during Develop:Brighton, is a good example of that approach: creating a genuinely welcoming space for the industry to connect in person.

It’s a nice addition to the directory, especially if you’re interested in the games side of the Sussex scene.

That’s it for this week!

If you’re finding SussexDigital or this newsletter useful, please share it with someone local… it really helps build momentum.

See you next week,
